This is the first post in a series of fiction about a man trapped in a room, with his memories lost that tries to re-learn the world from a LLM.

Hi, my name is CrossNox. Today I woke up in this room I’d never before been in. The naked walls expose the concrete and some rebar which is already showing signs of decades passed by.
A steel door is the only thing breaking the monotony of the gray walls. There are no windows, and light dripping from cracks in the ceiling is the only thing that prevents total darkness from overtaking. Earlier today, I heard some rumbling in the door, and food had been put in a drawer at the bottom. That’s all I had.
That, I can accept. But what intrigues me the most is you. Across the door, embedded in the wall, there’s this terminal with a prompt and a keyboard. No instructions, no examples. Just a prompt. So, I’m writing this hoping that someone (or something) is on the other side and can answer my questions.
